Here are 6 abnormal ways PORN impacts your brain:

The average age of exposure to porn, out of the 2,148 men I've worked with, is between age 7 and 12.

The interjection of porn in society, (especially today's world of extreme internet videos,) has concerned a lot of scientists with healthy brain development.

Here are a few impacts you should be aware of:

1) Dopamine Tolerance & Escalation:

Dopamine is the "Feel Good" chemical that is released in our brain that makes porn so "enticing."

We build a tolerance to dopamine at a rapid rate which is why escalation is required to get the same "excitement" and people end up in darker, extreme content and deeper forms of sexual addiction over time.

2) Desensitization & Unfulfillment

Because your brain becomes used to high levels of dopamine, everyday activities like completing tasks or hanging out with people becomes unfulfilling.

This typically results in either seeking "High risk behaviors" for fulfillment...

Or contrarily, feeling hopeless, resulting in isolation and de- motivation.

3) Distortion

The first place many people learn about sex is from porn...

This distorts sex as an act of "fulfilling lust" rather than "communicating love" leading to short lived or unfulfilling physical intimacy in relationships.

It also distorts assumptions of what a partner may or may not like.

4) Lowered self-esteem

Shame from doing something you feel like you can't tell everyone weighs on you over time...

Shame is a "depleting emotion" that often leads to fatigue and lack of energy.

This also lowers confidence in many areas because you feel like a hypocrite & liar.

5) Addiction

"Defined as continuing a behavior you know is negative and should stop."

Addiction is a surface level symptom created by a host of underlying issues.

Many people start feeling crazy because one moment they want to quit... and another moment they have strong urges for the very thing they want to quit...

6) Pride

Pride is a survival coping mechanism we use to mask our shortcomings because it's painful to be vulnerable and admit flaws.

Pride creates distance in relationships and frustrating levels of anger and irritability carry over into other areas of day to day life.

Interestingly enough...

The opposite is the only thing that opens the door to true healing.

Humility was required for me to realize that after 17 years of trying to break free from porn on my own...

If I could have done it on my own, I already would have...

The 1 thing all 2,000+ men and women who I've seen break free have in common is...
